In my last article I talked about an easy way to create yourself a “logo” just by using lettering in a particular interesting/unique/stylish/elegant/classy/handwritten/minimal font. This is a really good way to create a basic visual identity if you’re not planning to go the whole route of getting a logo designed by a proper graphic designer - which of course, is the ideal solution, but when starting out, not everyone has those resources available. In this article I’m going to show you some places you can go online to make yourself a logo. But one that doesn't look like a cheap option and that you can be really proud to use.
1. Logojoy
Logojoy is a brilliant system that generates modern-looking logos and refines them, generating more according to the results you like.
You can have as many try-outs as you like free, and then when you come up with a result you like, you can download a low resolution logo with a transparent background (for a website) for $20, or get the whole package - print-ready - for $65.
I've heard very good feedback about this company so I recommend you give it a go.
https://logojoy.com generates logos for you depending on what you like.
2. WithOomph
WithOomph is another good place to get a modern-looking, cleanly designed logo. The pricing is cheaper than the above, but the designs are perhaps a bit more simplistic, While you're choosing your logo you get to see how it would look printed on a variety of different products which is fun and inspiring!
3. Squarespace Logo Maker
The third place I'm going to suggest, the Squarespace logo maker, is not a generator so much as a tool which you use yourself to make your logo with just three elements: business name, tagline (optional) and icon. It's tied in with Google Fonts and a huge database of icons and you can create a logo in seconds, which is downloadable for just $10.
Of course using a tool like this completely lacks the nuances of a logo that's designed by a real person, but it can give you a an absolutely perfectly workable result that looks modern and slick and is usable immediately on your website and any printed products you want to make. A very far cry from the old-fashioned generators I used to see people using a couple of years ago that produced results that honestly made you want to cringe!

Of course these are just three of many online resources you can use to create yourself a logo, but I - obviously - only wanted to include places you could go to to get really good, modern results. If you know any really great, top-quality, modern-looking online logo makers, do please leave a comment below at the bottom of the page.
